The wind is blowing
Around the old churchyard
The evening’s so dark
With the shortening of days.
Inside the church
The parishioners gather
To say their prayers
And to sing the Lord’s praise.
Musicians play
as the service starts
The people sing
And open their hearts
It's Christmas Eve
The Birth of Christ rejoice
Christmas Carols clearly sung
With cheerful joy and one church voice.
Let us not forget the lonely and old
Those who are hungry and those who are cold
Those who never see a Christmas light
Or those past caring about their plight.
We must remember those in need
Victims of the most callous greed.
Merry Christmas to one and all.
